Judge Orders Father to Speak English, Not "Hispanic," to Daughter

Here's a story that I would typically expect to find on Fark.com:

PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) -- A Hispanic man who spoke to his 5-year-old daughter in Spanish has been ordered to use primarily English around the girl as a condition of his visitation rights.

I found it apropos that the AP writes in a'English really, really good:

Sarpy County Judge Ronald E. Reagan said the child does not understand Spanish, and her father should speak to her in the language she know.

That's a'like he should not a'speak with her inna' language she don't know, you know?

And you gotta' love the judge's sensitivity when he announces:

"The principal form of communication during the periods of visitation is going to be English,'' Reagan said. "That does not mean that you can't instruct and teach her the Hispanic language.''

Heh. Yeah, them judges in Nebraska got themselves some real book learnin'.

You hear that, Cornhuskers? Just send that judge down here to Miami for a while. Pretty soon, he won't be able to get through the day without a little Hispanic. (I personally prefer mine about five foot five, with long hair, long legs and short skirts. But don't tell the wife).

I've earned my family's bread in 'the other guy's language' (Thai, Korean) and in MY native tongue (English, ESL) and I am appalled at the examples printed there, AND at the interfering, meddling and general nastiness in twisting visitation to mean 'only speak what WE can understand, because you might be telling her WE're bad...' but they couldn't SAY that, so they said 'you don't got no right to speech Spain-like words with your own female-child so you must better to PAY MORE the child sport and not worrying your anguish, you loose all wrights of anguish, now you're divorce."

Or words to that effect.
